I'm back!

Hello Everyone,

It’s been a while since I wrote a post. What can I say, I became so busy with my everyday life that I put my blog to the side, but this year will be different, I’m determined to keep up with my blog.

I wasn’t sure how to start again, so I decided that it would be best if I shared one of my recent projects.

Have you heard of Amy Howard at Home products? If not, it’s time to get introduced. This is an amazing line of DIY products.

This line has several products ranging from furniture finishes, antique mirror solutions to even Zinc counter top finishing. I also want to mention they are very easy to use. Amy Howard at Home Products are for you and anyone else who wants to update a piece of furniture, cabinets or an accessory  piece.

Today I want to introduce you to the Amy Howard Furniture Lacquer Paint.

A couple of weeks ago, a client brought me an amazing antique french desk to refinish. My client loved the desk however it desperately needed an update. I mentioned the idea of using the Amy Howard lacquer paint and she agreed. Once completed, I along with the my client were blown away with the finish. Needless to say my Client loved it and I am already thinking of so many other things to refinish with this fantastic paint.  Please see below for the awesome turnout….. Let me know if you have any questions as well, it was so easy….

Since this desk had so much wood grain showing we had to apply several layers of plasters to remove all the grain and make the surface smooth.  After we achieved the smooth surface we wanted, we proceeded to clean and prime the desk. We cleaned the desk with Simple Green twice then we used the Furniture Lacquer  Primer. This primer is part of the Amy Howard Line and it is required to use under the Lacquer paint. 2 coats of primer were applied.

We let the primer dry then sprayed  Belgium Blue color lacquer paint. Again we sprayed 2 coats of the lacquer paint, letting the coats dry in between. And we were finished. Below is a collage of  pictures of the before and after we finished this desk.
